Hi,

Before I waste more time in try and error: is the light manager supposed to do ANYTHING?

The idea to include and exclude geo via the manager instead of the tedious Tag system is great. But when creating a light, open the light manager, delete all from "include" and add one specific object it doesn't do anything and by reopening the manager all looks the same as before .

Am I missing something? Sadly I couldn't find any forums post or anything else explaining the new feature.

Edit: Cinema 4D R25 and Octane 2021.1

shift+c and type light manager. You can dock the icon somewhere to access it quickly

It's specially not announced because it's still WIP and uncomplete. I'll spend more time to improve the interface soon.

Is this still in the works to be completed?

Looks like it's still in the works but over at boghma they made a pretty nice light manager : https://www.boghma.com/c4d/document/Oct ... %20Manager

A better workflow / interface for light linking would be great to have. The implementation in redshift is quite intuitive in comparison, where each light has a list of objects that are excluded.

This workflow is accessible if you enable C4D Light linking in the Octane options, but you can't really control light IDs.
