Hi

There have been some improvements in rendering .ABC files in release 2020.1.5.163.

To render .ABC files you will need a Modo Alembic File item (specifying the .ABC file to load), and a Modo Alembic Mesh item.

The Alembic File item must have Geometry Scale set to 1. If you need to scale the item, use the Alembic File Transform->Scale.

The Octane Material applied to the .abc file will be that assigned as teh Default material in the Shader Tree.

Hi Paul,

great news - thanks, but I couldn't make my scene to be rendered (embedded). Could you, please, check it and tell me where I do something wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Konstantin

Hi Konstantin - that archive is missing the .abc file.

Thanks Konstantin

That scene is rendering in Octane in version 2020.1.5.163, however the locators the ABC file is parented to are not being applied. I will look into how this could be implemented. It may not be simple, so may not make the next release.

Thanks

I'm importing a phoenixfd animation. I see it well in modo but no way to render it in octane...

Hi

I downloaded your file. Forgive me if I do not understand how you have setup your scene, however the KITCHEN.ABC file does not appear to be rendering in the Modo renderer. It's the PhoenixFDLiquid001 that renders, which is not an ABC file. I loaded KITCHEN.ABC into Octane Standalone, and it did not seem to render there either.

Thanks
