I can't do galss material in octane (working in blender 2.49b) becouse there are errors and it doesn't looks good (octane wersion 0.81a) and i don't know how to change transparency of the material. If you can you can make short tutorial how to made a realistic glass.
Second thing is the pathtracing when i change from a directlighting on the path my monitor shuting down and there is bluescreen . It happens in mid scenes like classroom . I don't think that it is from my memory becouse in 800x600 it take lower than half of video memory (i have gddr2 if it matters). I exporting scenes like radiance shows (without edges and with normals HQ etc).
glas and pathtracing error

Hi there,
Colors will result in a tint of the material and black will absorb all lightrays.
What specific errors do you speak of ?
You change the transparency by adjusting the Kd value, which by default is a color. Set this to pure white will create a 100% transparent specular material.there are errors and it doesn't looks good (octane wersion 0.81a) and i don't know how to change transparency of the material. Hi, can you give us some screenshots to illustrate the problem?RUNNER wrote:I can't do galss material in octane (working in blender 2.49b) becouse there are errors and it doesn't looks good (octane wersion 0.81a) and i don't know how to change transparency of the material. Do the stability problems also present when you use the octane8000.exe executable ?
Also check your drivers, make sure you have installed the same ones as we recommend in the readme.txt that comes with the releases.

Actually this is one place where the current manual differs from the beta. The beta calls the first two specular parameters 'Ks' and 'Kd', whereas the manual calls them 'specularity' and 'transmission'. I assume this small error has already been caught?MDkai wrote:You change the transparency by adjusting the Kd value, which by default is a color. If you change the material from a glossy to a specular, it will retain the ks and kd descriptions. If you change from diffuse straight to specular, you will see the specularity and transmission descriptions as it should be. This appears to be a bug. I'll report it to Radiance.
