Hi,
from the very beginning I don't understand in max all the stuff in octane light (visible, main, ...)
now, I need to make fog effect with an environnement medium.... argh
How can I make some fog with just an HDR for the lightning (not the sunlight) ?
If anybody can help.

Hi HHbomb,

Here is a pretty good tutorial about fog https://inlifethrill.com/fog-octanerender-cinema-4d/
In the article author uses Cinema4D plugin, but the same principle goes to Max plugin and SA as well, cause Octane is pretty consistent across all integration

Cheers

Thanks SergKlyosov, It is because of this video I wonder how to achieve this in 3dsmax.... But environnement in max is not really the same than in C4d, and as I said I don't really understand all stuff in ocatne daylight UI.

You don't need to use Octane Daylight
Please read the article more carefully, it is straightforward

I've attached screenshot from one of my scenes, so you can have more clear understanding how to apply that knowledge to max plugin

Cheers

@ SergKlyosov,
like this it look very simple... I use octane from version 1 and I don't really look at all the node inputs  Yes, there is a medium input in texture environnement node ! Thanks, I'll try :-)

edit : thank you sooo much

I get fog to work but have problem:

I get no falloff in fog. It starts full at camera origin. I tried several ways but had no luck. Usually fog should fade in at lets say 15m and then get more opaque.
