I recently tried the 3.08 update and my Universal Shaders have become "Undefined".
Tried to revert......still undefined. (see attachment)
Entering Shft+A, and looking for the Universal Shader under Octane Shaders......nothing. No there there. Just the Octane shaders prior to the Universal.
Now, I am assuming that, because I discovered the universal shader with a previous upload, (don't recall when...sometime this summer), that it was new.
Could be that it was there since I started with BlenderOctane in August, but it just did not show up for me?
What is the first version that has the Universal Shader? Maybe I am reverting wrong?
Anyone else have this happen?

update>
Here is what I have been able to do to re-activate the Universal shader:
Right click on the .exe files for both the ORserver and BlenderOctane, and launch from a restore point.
Maybe a clue: Launching the ORserver, I was prompted to "allow access" ....I don't remember to what. Probably Octane LDB?
Any help with how to normalize all of this will be huge!
What I cannot determine is what versions of BlenderOctane/ORserver I am running. The Blender splash page only reveals 2.79b.
Is there a way to determine, when running, precisely what versions I have reverted to through this restore point option?
Thanks so much.

Help! Universal shader gone?
Universal shader is only available in v4+
Opening projects in v3 with universal material will end up with undefined node in material editor.

Hi JC,
Ok, that is strange. I have never tried v4.
All my Render Server downloads are 3.08....
All my Blender Octanes are 15...s
Yet, I am using the Universal shader. And I have been using it for some time now.
How can I tell what version I am actually running?

If you want to check the server version just rollover the mouse cursor over the server icon in system tray.

According to Programs and Features:
OctanRender Server 3.08 - 15.3.4 installed on 11/12
Blender - OctaneRender edition 15.3.4 (2.79) installed on 11/12
OctaneRender stand alone 3.03.4
??
But, the little system tray tells me :
OctaneRender4.0 RC4 - Octane Engine v.16.2.4
Wow. I guess I must have installed 4? I remember wanting to wait on installing 4 because I was in the middle of a project.

My advice is to go getting the officially released Octane 4 for Blender and reinstall it in any case (just use some different folders for both Server and Blender, i normally just add a "4" to the default folder names).
