Texture loading problem when opening on another PCs

A. Operating System, including version (i.e. Win 7, OSX 10.11.2, Ubuntu 14.04, etc.)
B. Graphics Card(s) model (i.e. GTX 580 - 3GB, TITAN, etc.)
C. RAM Capacity (i.e. 6 GB)
D. Nvidia driver version (i.e. 7.50, 7.5.22)
E. OctaneRender Standalone version, if installed (i.e. 2.24.2, 2.23, etc.)
F. OctaneRender plugin version (i.e. v2.25 - 2.21)
G. Host application version, including build number if available (i.e. 3ds Max 2016 Build 18.0)
H. A detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce it (Include Screenshots or video capture), as well as an example scene if applicable.
I. Copies of the Octane Log window and Console window outputs (full text attached as a file to your post is recommended).


Please note that reports of issues inside existing threads will be ignored/removed, and reports may be closed if the reporter does not respond to subsequent queries in the thread.

Hi Aoktar, I have this problem regarding texture loading with OctaneSky/Environment Tag.

If I share my project to any colleague, when they hit render, texture for Env Tag doesnt load texture, it renders with default (white) color.
Its possible to get the texture to load in Env Tag, only when Realod is used.

But the main problem with this is, when we use Deadline for network rendering,
there is no one to hit the reload button since the process is automatic and most PCs render with incorrect lightning because the Env Tag doesnt load texture.

Only the computer that created/saved scene is able to load texture correctly after the scene is closed and re-opened.
Another fix is to open the scene on network slaves, reload Env Tags texture and re-save the scene.
But this workflow is complete waste of time and resources.

But its not releated to finding the texture, if I assign my light texture to any material and assign it to any object, that objects material loads texture and its working.
But even in this scenario, where in a single scene, there is material that loads lights texture, the Env Tag still doesnt load texture and renders with default white light.

I have attached scene for you.
To see this problem, just open the scene and first thing you do is just push the render button.
You should see render like this:

If you go to OctaneSky and in Env Tag reload texture, it should now work correctly and you should see render like this:

If you now save the scene, and close the project, open it again, and hit the render button, it should now work without reloading.

I hope you can help with this, since its a very big problem in our company and its almpost impossible to use C4D/Octane with Deadline manager.

B. GTX 1080Ti (happens on multiple machines)
C. RAM Capacity 32GB
D. Nvidia driver version = 398.11
E. OctaneRender Standalone version = 3.08.3 (3080300)
F. OctaneRender plugin version = 3.08.3

It's about my latest revisions to avoid the searching whole texture paths everytimes. You have a path variable in your pc like "C:\Users\ubnt-render-pc\Desktop\bug_texture_load\tex" and slave cannot find texture in this path of course due lack of my logic.
I'll fix this issue for next release.

This path you mentioed was made for test scene only.
But production scenes we made on a shared network path, were accesable from every slave, so it wasnt that case if some path was not avaliable to other slaves, it just seemed like Env texture wasnt even trying to find this path.

I'll not explain it in depth but It's the point of problem. Hard to understand to 3rd parties without knowing the alghoritm. I can give you a test build if you wish to test.

Is this issue solved? Having the same problem with Deadline or any Network render app. There's a brightness difference in the frames when using HDRI. Only the original pc renders the right image.

Network render from Octane is nice, but very limited. Really want to use Deadline as render tool, but with this bug it's not workable.

yes solved on latest builds, did you try?
