Hey so I followed the guide used for particles you have in the documentation to get fur to pickup the Cd color but doesn't seem to work right and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I created a shader assigned the PPM texture to the diffuse. Then on the octane parameters I ticked on Cd colors.

Hi,

It should work, but the hair curves need the Cd attribute at the primitive level. Attached you have a sample scene, you only need to set the texture from your folder in the hair material.

Thanks,

ok so is there a way to get variation in color along a single strand via Cd? I'm trying to match something like this. I know this is probably more of a houdini question than octane.

Sorry, not directly from a Cd attribute at point level. You have the Tool W Coordinate node that can be used for example with the gradient node to shade the fur along the strand.

Thanks,
