Hi

Seriously, these last couple of days were the confirmation of one of Murphy's Laws: "If anything can go wrong, it will".

I am building an animated landscape scene. In the process I found a lot of problems using octane with modo, and every workaround got me into another "dead end"!! This is the latest: Octane don't render deformers applied on instances (bug? Limitation?)...
Instance with deformer not rendering on octane
Instance with deformer not rendering on octane
Thank you for your help.

Just to be clear, Here are the steps I used to test the deformer:

First: I created the mesh
Second: I Instanced it
Third: I applied a bend deformer to the instance

Thanks for any help

I would appreciate if somebody could tell me if this "Not Rendering Deformers Applied on Instances" issue is a octane limitation or a bug.

Hi - the OctaneRender for Modo plugin treats instances of a mesh as identical copies - and puts all instances into an Octane Scatter node (to save on memory). So what you are trying to do will not work. Instead, "Change Type" of the "Cylinder Instance" to a "Mesh" and Octane will render this situation correctly.
