1. Once the Octane IPR window completes the sample preview, is there a way to save that image off as a jpeg/png?
2. When it comes to Render to disk, can you tell Houdini where to save the files as a default?
3. Whenever I go into ropnet1 and search for my octane_rop1, it doesn't show up until I drop another octane_rop2, then I end up deleting it. Why is that?
Thanks for your help.
Question about IPR Window, Render to disk and Ropnet1
Moderator: juanjgon
The IPR has a right-click menu with several options, including saving the current image as PNG or EXR files.
To save the images from the ROP you need to enable the "Output render images" option. I think that you can use the Houdini feature "Save as permanent defaults" to set any ROP node configuration as default wen you create a new one.
I'm not sure about your latest question. If you add an Octane ROP inside a ropnet using the shelf icon, or from the "Custom" menu tab, I can see the ROP inside the ropnet without problems. Can you elaborate this issue?
Thanks,

Thanks for your answers. As for the last one, when i double click the ropnet1 to go into it, I can't see the Octane ROP1. I only see it when I add another Octane Render node (Octane ROP2).
See vid.
EDIT: Tried to right click the IPR window to save out a png and I get this error message. Can you explain what I may be doing wrong?

The problem is that that this function doesn't support relative paths using Houdini variables like $HIP. I'll fix this issue for the next build. Thanks for reporting this issue.VISUAL360 wrote:EDIT: Tried to right click the IPR window to save out a png and I get this error message. Can you explain what I may be doing wrong?

Okay. Good to know.
When should I check for a new build? Usually once a week or once a month?
Thanks!
