Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new version of OctaneRender™ for Maya®
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2015, 2016, 2016.5 and 2017 64-bit on MS Windows operating systems, 2017 64-bit on Linux operating systems, and 2017 64-bit on OSX operating systems (including and above 10.9).

COMPATIBILITY AND OCTANERENDER STANDALONE REQUIREMENT

To run OctaneRender™ for Maya®, you need to also have an activated OctaneRender™ Standalone copy activated on the machine you wish to install the plugin onto.
You cannot purchase and use only the Maya plugin and use it without also owning an activated copy of Octan eRender™ Standalone on your machine.

Haha, there's a lot more improvements than that in this version :D

For "movable proxy" geometry type, changing visibility now works with IPR,
and batch rendering animated visibility with " animation mode : movable proxy" also works.

This is a really really nice improvement, and solves lots of workflow problems with the plugin.

I really like the coherence of visibility treated as an additional transform property,
then it make sens that visibility is not updated for "scatter" geometry type, as the definition of scatter geometry is to not update its transform.

When this will also work for the ORBX exporter, there will be no more reason to prefer Maya builtin Alembic exporter I think.

Hi Jim,

This version and the version and the older have some issues with maya 2017 for IPR doesn't starts at all maya crashs I have any error as a message. the 3.05.1 is working perfect.
aswell the sunsky default power was 1 and now in come back to 0.3???

Please could we have a fix for that?

Aff, too bad this version apparently doesn't work with Maya 2015 and 2017 .

For information, the plugin seems to work nicely in my tests with Maya 2016 sp6 windows .

I am using maya 2017 and latest stable version Octane Render® for Maya® 3.05.2 - 9.18 [STABLE] is CRASHING MAYA as soon as we start IPR
Can you please give us fixed version

I had also report a bug on Batch render at 3.05.1 page viewtopic.php?f=109&t=58254&start=10
Is about maya fluids is not working right on batch render.

Yep, I had the same problem. IPR start = Maya freeze. Maya 2017 also

Finally I could reproduce IPR freezing also with Maya 2016,
I noticed the problem occur only if I have frame extension set to single frame.
But as soon as this is set for animation rendering, the problem disappear:

So maybe this is the same for Maya 2015 and 2017,
so if you want to use this release before it's fixed, just set render settings to animation instead of "single frame".
