Hi,
don't remember if this has always been the case, but its
certainly wrong.
Why does a material with dirt-node which is applied to an object
interact with other objects?
Imagine an old rusty box.
Now I put a new pen inside and immediately the box rusts where the new pen
is placed a second before?
If I want interaction between different objects there is AO or I would use proximal-shader etc.,
but a material in this case should not interact with other objects, right?
Is there a workaround for this, or is this a bug?
R17, Octane 3.04.5-R2
regards
Mike

it worked like this forever, it can be considered a feature if you add like two intersecting pipes, you automatically get an edge where it crosses, and it doesn't have to be a single object..
- it behaves like AO..
- haven't found a workaround though,

Hi Mike,
dirt is like the proximal shader, so if you want it to stay, just bake it
