Planet atmosphere: soft edges on falloffmap?

Hi all,
Seeing if there's a technique to maintain the falloffmap appearance but get the edges to fall off into a haze? Pic of current situation attached.

I once struggle with this myself in the end I did it in post so I would love to hear what suggestions someone with more experience might have on this, by the way the render already looks wonderful good job!

Thanks Terry! Yeah I'm just building out the rest of the scene while I wait for an answer but it seems like I may have to do it in post =\ Would be nice if there was deeper editing of the gradient or an "edge feather" slider just in the Falloffmap node.
