Landscape software e-on vue was taken over by Bentley Systems in 2015.

Now e-on has "leaked" on their facebook page a

A release date has not yet been published.
It will be interesting to find out if e-on has found some solutions for challenges other GPU render engines are still dealing with

- procedural displacement?
- memory requirements of large scale scenes of detailed landscapes?
- advanced atmosphere system simulated with GPU rendering?
- spectral cloud, fog, haze models in GPU rendering?

vue is sooooooooooooo slooooooooooowwwww

even if this doubles the speed it'll still be hilariously slow.

great terrain program for export, but the only thing I ever actually render in it is HDRI's of the atmospheres, and as soon as you introduce any clouds it crawls to a halt.

it'd be cool to see xstream support for octane in maya for hdri pano rendering. then it'd be great
