Daz Victoria 7 has an SSS map with veins on it. But when Octane converts the maps, they do not show up in render. The SSS map is in the Transmission/Greyscale Node.
Tried changing values of all nodes, but nothing helps. Any ideas??? Thanks.

The SSS generated from a map in the Transmission node is very subtle. I doubt you would detect veins from such a map in a render.

In daz, adjusting certain nodes causes the veins to show in render. Just not sure how that translates to octane nodes. What node should the map be placed? Or should views be on a different map type and which node? Thanks.

You can experiment with geoshells;

Let me know if you have any success.

If you're just using the default conversion the plugin creates that is your first problem. I dun that diffuse/glossy mixture is not great for skin. I would try to work with specular/diffuse or specular/specular recipe.

Here is a test using Lee 7. my setup is a specular/specular material. sss map goes in one node and the diffuse map in the other.

So, with Geoshell, I would apply the Victoria 7 SSS map with the veins to the Geoshell?

Sorel, I don't understand. The diffuse map is in the Diffuse node. The SSS map with the veins is in the Transmission node. How is Lee setup different? Screen shots maybe would help. Thanks.

As I stated in my previous post I used a mix material setup of specular/specular. I can upload my recipe when I'm not at work. It's actually a modified version the Tony sculptor R20 material from the live db so you can probably start experimenting from there.

I think I figured it out. Selected Torso in Materials TAB. Scrolled town to Specularity Node. Changed it from greyscale to RGB Image. It then disappeared sort of and reappeared/added Specularity under the Diffuse material Node. I then loaded the SSS map into that node, and the veins showed in render. Is that what you have done? Thanks.
