Version 3 is great improvement, I think Octane can really improve much further in speed if it had a noise threshold setting, this way it isn't unnecessarily sampling areas that don't need cleanup and focuses on the areas that do and renders way faster. Vray has this and now so does Corona and the speed up in render from it is pretty huge. Noise threshold also allows you to have a consistent render through animation and also lets you calculate your render better.

I'm glad you wrote than, I was suppose to write adaptive rendering too. Doing to many things at once, brain fart. Yes those two things would be huge, how do you know they are coming in 3.1? is there a public road map i'm not aware of?calus wrote:logically noise threshold feature will come with "adaptive rendering" which should be a 3.1 feature.

Well Abstrax explaind here it will be easy to add :

and here Goldorak said it will be for 3.1:

I'm not completely sold on Coronas Adaptive sampling, unlike where Vrays makes it much faster to render, Coronas actually makes it slower in most all cases. Also I've tried denoise and with high detailed objects like trees or grass blades, it washes out a lot of the detail. I'm sure it will get better over time but for right now.......RobSteady wrote:While others are just talking...
