Hi,

The Problem is a dark shadow or a bad GI Setting (pic 1). With the normal Sun (Daylighttag) my Rendering is to dark. Is there any settings to make the shadow brighter?
Of cource i try an HDRI but the same Problem, it is to dark. If i set the power of the Gamma or the "Power" higher, the hole Picture (Textures) will be brighter too -> not good.

If i take the HDRI without any adjustments, the sky Looks very good but the Picture is to dark ! (pic_2)

If i put the HDRI Power up to 5 or higher the Picture Looks great but the sky ist to bright (pic_3)

hope the Problem is clear, i have no idea what the Problem is. pls help.

Sorry for my bad english.

Hi,
I guess that the sun's dynamic in the HDR is not enough
You can adjust it in Photoshop or you can use the physical sky in conjuction with an HDR in order to better control the direct and indirect lighting.
In the new v3 alpha 10 you can also use two different HDRs, or the same with different settings, one for lighting and the second one for visibility and reflections, give it a try ;)
By the way, which kernel are you using?

Hi vi-ex,
just create a couple of HDRI Environment objects, and in one of them, tick the Visible Environment option ;)

Any idea where that option is for the 3ds max plugin?

Hi Rik,
just under the On/Off checkbox there is a Kind option, Main or Visible:
