Hi There,
I have just bought 6 x GTX 980 ti cards for our two machines at the office and have ran into an unexpected issue,
I can't find anywhere which sells the correct PCI-E power supply cables outside Hong Kong. I'm based in the UK.

I'm running two machines,
Alienware Area 51
Dell Precision T7900

Both machines only came with 2x internal PCI cables as they were shipped with 1 card each, now I'm putting 3 in each machine I need a few more.

This is the type of cable I'm after.

I've contacted Dell directly who say they have the replacement cables but are only able to ship one at a time at a price of £27 each.. which sounds insane to me as I need them asap.

I'm really surprised that this is an issue and am sure I must be missing something really simple.

Thanks

first of all You might nnow be capable to put too much GPUs inside Your rig.. please make a photo osf Your PSU sticker on hte side that has some info about voltages & so..

There are cable sets for soem power suplies.. but all PSU has the same ends (where You plug to let's say motherboard or GPU), but front partt might be completelly different.

By the way how old are Your PSU? the reason I'm asking this is that PSU efficiency drops with time.. & if You put too much of load.. You might risk stability..

Thanks for the quick response,
Here are the two images of the PCU and the inputs.

There's 3 x 8 PCI on the Dell
6 x 6 PCI on the Alienware

Thanks

Honestly, the price per cable is not entirelly unreasonable, considering as mentioned that all cables differ (apart from the side that plugs into GPU, motherboar, 24pin - those are standard). So if Yo uwish to get exact cables You have two options, buy or make them =) price wise getting from DELL might be even cheeper than making from scratch =)

Try here (I've bought some CPU 8pin, 24 pin and GPU 6+2 pin extender cables from them). They are all custom made so you might just tell them what you need and get custom made lenght/color cables. And they are base din UK.
