Hello all,
I am currently using Octane 3 alpha 2, on this same version in the past I have rendered z-depth with no problems. On screen it shows the correct pass but when I output the file to either a layered exr or individual files I get no information in the zdepth. I have a work around for nuke that works well enough using the position pass and a camera, but I would like to be able to just use a z-depth pass. Anybody have ideas as to what is happening?
No usable data in Z Depth

Hi rainhawk,
you are right, currently it seems that there is a issue with EXR and multi pass, especially with AO and Z depth
The only way that I have found to save out the Z depth pass, is to use PNG 16 bit

Z_depth.Y
channel instead of RGB channels. I tested this today and I can still get the correct values in Nuke.regards,
