Excluding light off of Mesh emission objects

Trying to get a monitor surface looking correct using mesh emissions. the problem is that I cant exclude other light sources from spilling light on to the mesh (I assume because its a diffuse material) and so its blowing out in unnatural ways. In C4D advanced render this isn't a problem because you can use the lumanince channel so it ignores other light sources. Is there any way of accomplishing this in Octane? thanks in advance:

Set the difuse color to black.
