Ok.
Still didn't find the proper settings for a realistic skin effect in Octane standalone.
So far I've tried:
Redspec (eported from Poser to OC standalone) - it's ok but the skin looks almost like a porcelain doll. Nice but not very realistic (nevertheless it's very good in Poser when I use the OC-plugin)
Kayze's Skin - I didn't find the proper settings to get a reaal sss-effect.
Tonysculptor's R20 - I've tried so many times to get the look I've seen in all those sss-threads but the skin always looks like a silcone living doll or something similar.
I could see in the threads that R20 should work properly if you ex- and import the OBJ in real-life scale - but HOW could I do this?
I've tried all possible combinations (Poser and Octane) - Poser native units to Poser native units, meters to meters, meters to centimeters and so on but in most cases I had to look for the resized mesh in the vieport; When I zoomed in it wasn't possible to get a sharp and crisp render (aperture); I'be also tried resizing the mesh using the placement node but with no luck.
I've found that I had to set the scatter scales to 6.000 both to get a soft skintone if I export the OBJ from within Poser and import into Octane both in meters.
To avoid the issues with the mesh (as you can see in attached screenshot No.1) you'll have to set the subdivison level for the obj in Octane to 1.0.
You can see the result (scattering at 6.000, texture plugged to the colour-node in R20), subdivision on 1.0 on the 2nd screenshot.
But it's STILL looking like silicone. Why?
Maybe someone can help me...
