Hi,
don't know what I'm doing wrong here!
I cannot get my background image to be rendered in PictureViewer.
I only get the HDRI or black. Tried both render methods, alpha-settings.
It renders perfectly in LV but not in PV.
Any idear?
thanks
Mike
background image renders only in LV?

it works now!
Copied all assets into a new scene and now its working.
Don't no why, but anyway!
no, not working!
2 times I tried without saving the image and it worked.
Now I rendered the image again with saving and I get a black
background again!
I don't understand this behavior!
regards
Mike

I could be wrong, but I have / had the same problem: do you have any white spaces in your filenames/folder structure?
press shift-F10, then the c4d console comes up. Inside there should be written something like: File not found and a path. check this for spaces - in my case (one of the many), octane just put a 0 at the end of the filename it was looking for, if there was a blank in the name (so xxx xxx450.png became file not found: xxx xxx4500.png.
oh, and aoktar stated it before: don't name your pngs or movs with caps (no .MOV, but .mov)
I have the feeling, octane doesn't like very long folder structures, but I could be wrong. what makes the whole thing a bit weird (like you said): sometimes the background just appears and is gone again

o.k. i think I found the problem!
Ahmet, can you please check in your example:
BG dissappears/renders black when in rendersettings (Main)
"Render buffer type" is set to "Float(tonemapped)" or "Float buffer"
Hi mrom,
thanks!
Since I had lots of troubles with image sequences while ago,
I take care about paths and filenames. But still sometimes textures
(especially in displacement) suddenly dissappears when changing parameters.

MIke

Yes, it's a truth. Does not supports float buffers.
