OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin. Windows x64 version.

The bundle consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

The first part (server) should be run on the same computer as the second one. To stop the server - just right-click its icon in the tray.
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender. Before the very first rendering you should fill in the server address (only 127.0.0.1 at the time), login and password (your license key info) to activate the server. After the first rendering the server will remember this activation info, and you will not need to enter it again.

You should use only OctaneRender materials inside Blender scenes - the plugin knows nothing about Blender specific materials and textures (about any Blender nodes, generally speaking).

FIXES AND NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE
  • Fixed the filenames encoding inconsistency between Blender and server in some cases.
  • Fixed the 2D-transform node translation bug.
  • Minor fixes and improvements...

After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.

I still have the old problem, that Octane Server is not releasing the GPUs after a render ... it keeps them at 50% power when rendering is finished instead of dropping down back to idle.

I made a screenshot in MSI Afterburner to explain:

1. You can see that the GPU power of the GPUs is in the beginning around 10%. That is with Octane Renderserver running, but after a freesh start, i.e. it has not done any rendering so far, but I can acces the Live DB etc in Blender.

2. Tallest Peak. This is Octane Server rendering my small demo picture of just a cube. You also see that in the tall "GPU Auslastung" (usage) peaks at that moment.

3. Long high plateau in the middle. This is after the rendering. It does finish the job (2000 of 2000 samples), but it never drops back to 10% .. it keeps the GPUs around 50% power usage.

4. Drop at then end. This is me closing and restarting the Render Server. it is then back to 10% ... until you render soemthing again...

Hi,
i'm new in Octane for blender ( but i use Octane and octane for Lightwave for a long time), so sorry if some of my posts have already be asked.
Globaly, i find this plugin version fine but i encounter a problem:

*When i render an animation, it works
*after this , if i enable " motion blur internal" and render again the animation ,it doesn't start to render
*so i uncheck 'Motion blur option" and launch 'render animation' again: it seems to render, very quick, but if fact, the rendered frames are black...

There is apparently troubles with internal MB, can you confirm it ?
Is there a workaround or special case to use it correctly ?

Thanks in advance

I wonder if this is a Blender issue? I noticed that Cycles does the same thing:
