test you scene with diffuse materials. I think that you have problems on objects or scene scale/rayepsilon.

I just fight as well with some flickering.
In my scene its light-flickering mostlty in the Refl-Indirect Pass.
Its not grain or noise, only light flickering with having only one HDRI
in the scene.
I get rid of this quite well with deflickering filter in AE, but would
like to know how to otimize this in Octane.
I have DL with 1000 Samples and all passes are rendering super clean.
Are there some generell tips for settings/values for the "rayepsilon"?
regards
Mike

can you try with a sphere/torus etc.. substituted for your middle object with same material? I think there is two possibility. Bad object or insuffient sampling for this setup. I'm curious to see how will behave your material on a simple object

Check...
1.Same Two Surface Close or Not
2.Coherent Ratio = 0 (Animation : Must Set Zero)
3.Surface Normal Correct?
4.Enough Sample? (Need Higher Sample for Refraction)
