I have no materials tab inside my octane tab as illustrated below?

I'd also like to know how you added the materials tool to the properties window?

Hi Mugz,

The materials are not found within the Octane tab. They are a separate tab. In your image the materials tab is to the right of the Octane tab. When you create a new material you will have the option to create it as an Octane material. Select Octane Material and you will have all of the Octane materials settings. See image below.

Also, you already have a materials icon in the properties window, see second image below. I'm not sure what your question is here. Can you clarify?

Open the Rhino Materials tab in order to access the Octane materials.

Thanks Paul

I bought both the modo and rhino plug in because I wasn't sure which was going to work best for my workflow so I'm in the process of evaluating both.

So far I'm not a fan of either simply because everything seems so spread out and compartmentalized compared to the standalone but I'm sure it'll get easier once I figure out the proper workflow for each.

I will say that the rhino version seems very unstable (V2.0) since I've been unable to create a single render because it crashes every time I try and use it.. I might get as far as applying materials or I'll be trying to change the environment etc but regardless it's been a crash every time.

I have had no other reports of crashes - is Standalone working OK? Can you reproduce a crash every time with a particular scene/operation (or is it random)?

Can you pls provide the information requested at the top of the thread at http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=42587. And can you also send me a crash report (they should get saved to your desktop).

Thanks
