Is there a possibility of object masking becoming a feature any time soon?
It would be great if there was something like Lightwave's native 'Matte Object' which removes an object from the rendered alpha channel.
Cheers

Help me out. What is you're trying to do that you want an object not to be in the alpha?
Also, what do you mean by surface matting? Can't you already do that?

Lightwaves native 'matte object' settings act almost like a boolean in the alpha channel, great for rendering separate passes of objects that are partially obscured by another. It would be brilliant if we could have something similar in octane.gordonrobb wrote:Help me out. What is you're trying to do that you want an object not to be in the alpha?

with that buffers image, a couple things don't look right. Check out the reflections buffer, seems to be showing more than just reflections. Also the AO buffer, one side of the tape is completely black.
