You might have seen this image I made and ran in to similar problems and managed to find a solution.


For the red drapes you see in the render, heres my setup. Connect the output of diffuse material to the material of your curtains/drapes replacing it. The red colour you see on the right is the main colour, and the black controls the translucency.

Make sure you are on pathtracing and as well change the scattering colour to see the effect differ.

as you have obtained Renderers without the noise and fireflies?

Very nice scene. Fireflies are often due to excessive value for NOR maps, It could come from the setting of the materials used for your wall.

It's mainly mesh emitters that seem to cast the most fireflies in the latest versions. You might be better waiting a while for the final 2.3. Exclude your indoor lights, and do some renders using texture environment and sun/sky to see the difference.
