Attached is an update which attempts to prevent Octane from crashing on open. It adds one additional command, OctaneClearOptions. Please run this command on the first run of the plug-in, it will clear out the any options which older version of the plug-in may have written.
Thanks,
Sam

I'm still investigating the UV issue. I can repeat it sometimes and not other times, so I am trying to nail down what is going on. I have a feeling though that the fix is going to have to wait on the improved *.obj exporter.Daniel79 wrote:all work fine but not UV mapping...

Thanks, odd enough I had to try it using Rhino 5 Wip as it was crashing again in Rhino 4 and now it is not, can't find the 'Clear' option...SamPage wrote:I'm still investigating the UV issue. If OctaneClearOptions is not coming up as a command, then the wrong version of the plug-in is loading. You can check by going to Rhino Options -> Plug-ins, select RenderOctane and click Properties. It should list the version as 1.022r01.01, and list three commands, OctaneClearOptions, OctaneOptions, and RenderOctane. It will also list the path of the plug-in that is loading, so if something other than the expected version is loading you can check in this location for errant older versions.justix wrote: Thanks, odd enough I had to try it using Rhino 5 Wip as it was crashing again in Rhino 4 and now it is not, can't find the 'Clear' option...

Thanks, Version loaded is 1.022r01.01 but only 2 options are showing LeftMouse > Render Octane and Right Mouse>Octane Options and in this last I only have the Octane Path and Samples.SamPage wrote:If OctaneClearOptions is not coming up as a command, then the wrong version of the plug-in is loading. AS we are on the matter I suggest a future option that could ease the pain of Manually renaming the exported obj for Future renderings.
As it is now everything is exported in a folder inside the same directory were the Rhino is opened, but like me I guess many users will have a single folder for most of their models,
in this way the Exported Obj will remain the same name overwriting anytime of an export.
I guess it would be awesome to actually Name the exported Obj in order to avoid OctaneExport.obj to be replace by mistake, in case someone (it happened to me) does export a new scene and forget to copy or rename the old obj for future renderings (the Ocs file does call for it).
Cheers

As it isn't a "everyday" command and rather just fix a previous mistake kind of thing, it isn't exposed on the toolbar, you have to type in OctaneClearOptions.justix wrote:Thanks, Version loaded is 1.022r01.01 but only 2 options are showing LeftMouse > Render Octane and Right Mouse>Octane Options and in this last I only have the Octane Path and Samples.
It is coming.justix wrote:AS we are on the matter I suggest a future option that could ease the pain of Manually renaming the exported obj for Future renderings.
