i've been using octane standalone demo for a while and it works fine, but recently i got the maya demo but my textures are not being rendered correctly
viewport render, textures are okay
viewport render, textures are okay
The viewport render and the standalone renders are ok.
standalone render, textures are okay

But when i do render with the maya demo plugin, the textures are not rendered correctly. see below
ipr render, textures are not okay

another ipr render, textures render with visible artifacts

Anybody with a solution please help.

Hi,

The first thing to do is double check your normals and also scene scale (to large or tiny models can cause problems). You can use octane's deep channel kernel to help with this - to see if octane is being provided with problematic normals.

Thanks
Chris.

normals are fine, i was hoping it would be a scale issue coz i scaled up the model a lot, but scaling it down does not seem to solve the problem. Thanks for the tip anyway.

Another thing i have seen that causes this is duplicate geometry or "double sided" geometry (the double sided one was from sketch-up when exported as an obj and loaded into the standalone).

Thanks
Chris.
