Hi all,

This release contains mainly bug fixes and small improvements towards a stable 1.1.

Changes since 1.03:
  • Added white point picker.
  • Fix swapped stereo filter colors.
  • Tweaks to the new daylight model.
  • Reduce delays when switching render targets with environment importance sampling enabled.
  • Fix default color of materials.
  • Center viewport button doesn't reset the zoom.
  • Added menu item to node inspector and outliner to show a node in the graph editor.
  • If Octane can't load a node in an OCS file it will still load the rest of the OCS file rather than canceling the load.
  • Fix crash on selecting the project root node in the outliner and pressing delete.
  • Fix crash on selecting show in outliner if no outliner is displayed.
  • Add --no-opengl command line switch to start Octane if OpenGL doesn't work.

Does anyone else have similar problems? Elvis, what does the log say (Help -> Open Log...)?

Thanks,

Yep, it happened to me.

Switched to custom resolution and input 1024 x 768

see attached.

Also noted that the interface is very sluggish now for those of use using a single GPU for display and rendering.

Yes, it's a compiler problem. We couldn't find a workaround so it probably will stay broken unless future changes make the CUDA compiler cooperate again. We spent several days on it, but couldn't solve it and since most of our users are using Fermi and Kepler cards it doesn't make sense to hold back development only because we have reached the maximum complexity, the old CUDA compiler can deal with.

Cheers,
Marcus

Ok, thanks. It's the autofocus picking that falls apart. Thanks for the report.
