sounds like an uncommon problem to me. is this happening really every time, or only sometimes? have you tried to save to another location (another disk, network, maybe an usb stick)? does it happen with every octane version, or only with a specific one? maybe a crude hardware related problem...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

i work on 2 screens and every single time i try to save an image in the main screen octane crashes every single time, amazingly i tried working on the secondary screen and everything worked perfectly . i tried again on the main screen and octane crashed again. this doesn't make any sense specially that both screens are linked to the same graphic card o.O.

that is WEIRD.

i have about 2 dozen questions/things to try, to narrow the possible source of the problem, but no answer. in windows, you may change which screen is primary and which is secondary - does the problem "move" with that, or is it tied to a specific physical screen. also what driver version do you use? do you use any non-onboard disk controller (raid/sas/whatever)? does it still happen, if you turn windows areo off? does it happen too, if it snows outside...

When does the crash happen? Does it happen if you click the save image button, or after choosing a file?

If i read your signature right, you´re using Octane 2.52?
I think there was an issue with the plugins where Octane has save the image but wasn´t closed.
The consequence was, that the plugins were waiting and nothing happens.
A look in the taskmanager shows a running Octane instance. If the task was killed, the plugins continue working.

The workaround to solve the issue, use a newer version ;)
