this is just a performance and animation test im making using latest octane 2.57 in max2011, this frame took only 32 seconds on DL+AO on 384samples (58sec on DL+Diffuse), using 2*gtx480, the scene translation time is around 13seconds, i am in AWE at the moment, i can't thank enough the refractive team for all their hard work, and to think that we don't even have instancing or object transform capabilities yes...yet we can already do stuff like this...its just amazing, if we could just have a tick box (and preview textures in viewport in Direct3d mode) that we could use it to tell octane to just render a camera animation (if no object deformaton was going on) this would be even faster!!!
i was a Vray and MachStudio Pro user and to get vray to render at this quality (flicker free!!! mind you) would take much longer
frame size is 960x540 btw and in this case only camera is moving...
the FG Grass and BG Trees are mapped planes, all else are polygons
Please keep adding features and don't stop please
