This would be a nice addition:
i.e. I select 12 objects in my scene and "re-convert selected materials from Archicad"\
instead of having to do it 12 times one by one.
+1

Nice idea - although an "object" is not a "material", and there is not currently a "Re-convert all materials for the selected object". But I will see what can be done.

Issue with the AC18 version of the plugin : If you render with the Photorenderer WITHOUT having the Octane Viewport open, the Octane Photorenderer process cannot access the Octane materials. This appears to be a bug in AC18 - and I have escalated it to Graphisoft.

Jeroen - the workaround at the moment is to Open the Viewport first - then Photorender.

Hi Paul,

yes, I know, but that does not work when having moving objects.

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

2.12.1.24
- Compiled with Octane 2.12.1
- EXPERIMENTAL: Added "Export All Assets" to the Settings tab menu. This copies all texturemaps, proxies (OBJ files) and scatter (CSV files) used by Octane nodes in the scene into a specified folder, and then updates the links in the Octane nodes to use those assets in their new location. This has had minimal testing, so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. It is highly recommended to File->Save As after using this feature to ensure you do not loose your original pln/pla file.

Thanks

Thanx Paul,
Great news.. I skipped 2.11, because I have read that 2.12 was much faster.
Nice experimental new feature!

Following is an experimental version of the plugin:

2.12.1.26
- Added "Fast Cache" option to the Configuration. Ticking this will reduce the time required for caching materials. RECOMMEND SETTING = DISABLED. Do not enable unless the scene is taking a long time to cache materials. When checked, you CANNOT render via the Octane Photorenderer UNLESS the Octane Viewport is already open, however starting the plugin and loading the OctaneRender Viewport is quicker. If you add anything to the ArchiCAD scene when the Setup window is open, you should close and reopen the plugin. Pen materials are not processed when Fast Cache is enabled.
- Fixed issue where unused proxy materials were not being deleted from the pln/pla file
- Fixed AC18 issue where the Photorender was not picking up material definitions when rendering with the Photorenderer. The solution implemented works around an AC18 API bug - so there still might be some small issues found with this solution. Graphisoft will hopefully fix this error in the next service release.
- Added first Grass Shader implementation. See http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=43405 for more details

2.12.1.25
- Added "Ignore Further Warnings" button to the "Export All Assets" error box
- Added specific cursors for focus, material, white balance and render region picking

- OctaneRender for ArchiCAD 17 2.12.1.26 (64 bit)
