i wanted to achieve an uneven distribution. i thought for this is the shaderinput in distribution.
for example if i have 3 objects in scatterobject and the minslider is on 0.5, the first ibject is not used for scatter.
its more clear if you just use a gradient instead of noise
is this intended?
then i can control the distribution with the min and max slider. But this works only when i scatter only 1 single object. as soon as i scatter more than 1 objects this workflow dont work. because this sliders also influence which objects are used for scattering or not.Version 2.24.2-R2 (22.01.2016)

I gave you all the info I have. Working with xrefs, LV open, net rendering running. One computer was freezing really badly, the other was getting render failure (not talking about the slaves) . Identical computers, OS, drivers, everything the same. Then after swapping back over to 5.2, everything worked fine. Unfortunately, I cannot send you the files right now because #1 there are about 5-10 different xrefs attached to it, and #2 NDA. I'll see if I can get that relaxed so I can give you files to try so I can help you get any issues resolves so we're both happyaoktar wrote: This version and V3 is based on same codes. This version and TEST version are based on same SDK. So network rendering is same. Render failures is not plugin issue.
Anyway if we can't find that you'll see same problems on V3. Why don't you send me better info?

I'm getting tons of crashes using hair on this. Are there known issues with hair rendering? It seems to do fine unless I make the length at 1%. At that point the render says it's going to take hours, and then the GPU driver crashes.

Do you think to share any bugreports? I can't see any crashes here.aggiechase37 wrote:I'm getting tons of crashes using hair on this. Are there known issues with hair rendering?
To everyone, please share scenes/bugreports, full version informations, driver version, OS information your previous stable version.
I'm not really expecting that a lot of crashes.

I think I found a bug: It's not possible to drag and drop multiple materials into the node graph anymore. Or drag a second material into a graph where already a material is, so you can connect them together. This definately worked in the latest stable build.

Maybe draw up a template and sticky it to the main C4D forum with how you want the info and people can copy+paste and never forget to put in all that info, e.g.,aoktar wrote:

So now all of a sudden it's acting good and I can't get it to crash. If it happens again I'll do bug report and scene file.DinoMuhic wrote:I think I found a bug: It's not possible to drag and drop multiple materials into the node graph anymore. As a general question though, are there limitations about rendering hair that we should try to stay under? Hair count max? Length max/min? Anything like that?
Thanks.

Octane always have some limits on geometries, etc.. due VRAM and geometry limit. Sorry that's not meanful for me. Plugin doesn't act randomly. Maybe somethings are different due your usage, plugins, drivers, etc... If you create millions hair and make critisms about freeze, etc... that's not issue about plugin. Also plese always try to put a bugreport, scenes, etc... as i described in first page.aggiechase37 wrote:So now all of a sudden it's acting good and I can't get it to crash.
