OSX R20 was wrong. Fixed now with newer builds.iamcyclo wrote:Hello,
I have been having an issue with launching Octane I am currently running the latest version of Cinema 4D R20 and the latest studio drivers.
I can get cinema to open OctaneStudio-for-C4D-2019_1_5-R3-win
but if I try to go any version that is newer of 2019 or 2020 my cinema 4d gets stuck on launch at initializing plugins. If I downgrade versions of octane it works fine.
not sure how to get this to work.
Thank You
Thomas

I had no issues with the RC3 regarding this.
Thanks!

ACES in LV is same thing in Linear ACES in render settings.paypal-ict wrote:Anyone found a proper way to work with ACES / OCIO? I found this new icon in the live viewer, which you can toggle:
LDR 8-bit
HDR
HDR Linear
ACES
And in the rendersettings in Cinema4D there's a new option under Render buffertype: Linear ACES 2065-1
And in multipass options you can also set the Tonemap type to: Linear ACES 2065-1
But how can I show the Live Viewer as usual but use the ACEScg workflow? I tried applying a LUT in the camera imager wile LiveViewer is set to ACES-mode, but nothing happens.
ACES + HDR linear, both are linear. So tone mapping effects are not applied to keep them not distorted.

I don't have any habits, just trying to make this s*** best. Of course, I see every report and trying to fix. For major releases, we have incredible many messages/things to be care of. I cannot give feedback to everyone to have more time to work on.VVG wrote:aoktar wrote:I know it, do you think I sleep without working. I can't work if I answer every messages. Thanks for the release
Do many people send bugs to you on the forum?
10/100/1000 people?
You have a habit of not responding to problems.
I have repeatedly said that no one asks to quickly fix the problem, especially since it is not critical.
You just need to answer that you are busy solving this problem. That's all I'm waiting for.
Thanks

Sorry for the concern, Ahmet, but could you say something about the inconsistency between the version of c4d octane and the slave node? My work is idle.
UPD: I am a little confused in the versions, now everything is fine. Thanks, help is no longer required.

I havn't been able to replicate this, it's always black for me when Visible Environment is selected. Even on final render to picture viewer it stays black which is a HUGE deal breaker. Hopefully we see a fix for this ASAP.frankmci wrote: I'm seeing this only when switching back and forth between Primary Environment and Visible Environment. Re-sending the scene seems to fix it.
The 2020 features are too good to roll back, but i'm held up with rendering projects until we get this sorted

But where can I find the OCIO support mentioned in the release notes? I should be able to apply OCIO in the Live Viewer somehow, right?
aces is just supported in export - we were going to have ocio in C4D itself, but will be instead be working on our our display system. Because octane is spectral in core, sky, blackbody, etc just work without OCIO. In 2020.1 we have tested OSL nodes for RGB image to ACES, but we are working on a. fully built in color space node to solve this definitively along with the display work. Octane X on Metal does have the new display (in standalone) but it is a version or two ahead of 2020.1 right now.paypal-ict wrote:But where can I find the OCIO support mentioned in the release notes? Not a major issue but I'm just letting you know: the image jiggles a little when you slide the cursor between A and B images.
Thanks for your hard work!
