Guys! With this and previous version we experience major problems with using Gryptomattes. Basically they do not work. I've attached a picture of how it looks in IPR. I've went through the comments below this and previous version and was unable to find even a single mention about this problem. So maybe something has changed, and I am unaware? After checking in AE some of my test meshes work, and some are missing for some reason.

Please help
Luke

Hi, it happpens during sub materials, dont know exact steps but here u go:
Transmission when using specular material as sub, is missing the node. No matter what i cant make it appear again. It bugs out when u change material types.

@Luke. please check to have the Live View mode sets to LDR-8bit, anyway the results in Picture Viewer should be saved correctly.

Hi there,
I have problems with displacement, don't know how to fix it. Displacement is ripping geo apart at edges. I tried texture- and vertex-displacement. Vertex displacement is also ripping apart, but looks a bit different.
Tried to look it up with the scene file from help, the material globe, same there. I thought, mapping (box or UV) and/or phong angle was my friend earlier, but both does not linking the ripped faces together.

Edit: and found this description also, wich helps partially. Because of the SDS the models would have to be changed all in SDS Models, and nevertheless there are still issues at the walls. Will try it with the globe.

What do I have to do to get it to work? I am working on Xeon E5-2690 with AVX (1), could this still be a reason? Thanks!

Hello!
I do not understand, may be something is breaking by itself - I get noisy Black Shadow Pass via Render Layer feature again.

Hi Ahmet,

Since this version I often get this error:

Started logging on 11.08.20 22:36:32

OctaneRender Enterprise 2020.1.4 (8010400)

OptiX API error: Entry symbol not found
CUDA error 700 on device 2: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to download symbol(stats data)
device 2: path tracing kernel failed
CUDA error 700 on device 1: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to download symbol(stats data)
device 1: path tracing kernel failed
CUDA error 700 on device 3: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to download symbol(stats data)
device 3: path tracing kernel failed
CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to download symbol(stats data)
device 0: path tracing kernel failed

no matter the scene, it's pretty random, do you have any idea about the possible reason for this type of error? I'm on Win10 and 4x1080Ti

Thank you.

Drivers/windows update, whatever else of me! It's a low level error that I cannot know exactly because I don't handle core.

I've noticed this as well. I think if you have adaptive sampling on it stops sampling the shadow once it hit's the adaptive count (I could be wrong, that is just what I was assuming was happening). Surface Blur in photoshop will do the trick for you and blur it on stills.
