Gotta admit I rolled my eyes at this thread and this user's persistent requests a bit like Simon Crowell did with Susan Boyle's debut on "Britain's Got Talent."

But perhaps in part because of Nuno's persistence and vision we may soon have a new slick kernel in Octane, lol. And it assists speed in Brigade, no less! Glad folks at Otoy looked into PPM. Glad Nuno kept up the fight!

Congrats, Nuno! Well done.

I don't have any «Nuno80»'s user on any other website of other brand renderer (eg: Luxrender or...). lol

Thank you. :)
2021 Features Roadmap:

• Additive material: allows artists to specify multiple layers of emission added together
PPM kernel (progressive photon mapping) for fast caustics rendering <--- :D
...
Very good news! :D But 5 years (not this year but yes in the next year) of wait after new v3 with PMC kernel issue in 2016.

The PPM kernel coming in 2021 is a highlight for me. Will one be able to work in that kernel without “multi-render”? For instance: Is the main visual difference between PT & PPM the caustics? Or is it expected to be comped in if one wants the light quality/ spectral qualities of the PT kernel?
