OctaneRender for Carrara 3.03.04.23[Stable]
Did you have the octane render viewport open when you were selecting or moving the marquee? It is always a good idea to close the ORVP when making large scale changes like this.

Hi Simon,
I did not have an open Octane viewport for this error. Are you able to duplicate with the file I provided?
Also, today, the trick of holding the shift key down to try to get around the error is not working.
I have uploaded a very simple file which seems to definitely point to an Octane Materials issue. It is a sphere with Materials from the problem file.
Once the Materials were pasted into the new file, the problem presents itself.
Please check it.

Hi there,
I've had a problem with the last few versions crashing Carrara. Octane will run once to register, but when running, I get the attached message. After that, Carrara refuses to load new scenes, and I have to uninstall the Octane plug-in if I want to create a new scene.
Error occured opening OctaneRender Window: threadName=",
appartmentState='STA', isBackground='True', Configuration system failed
to initialize
Thanks
Noel

It looks like you might have a corrupt settings file. Please try to locate and delete all the plugin user.config files located in your AppData directory:Nod64 wrote:I've had a problem with the last few versions crashing Carrara. Mine were located here:
C:\Users\Simon\AppData\Local\DAZ_3D,_Inc
Within that directory you should find sub directories that look something like 'DefaultDomain_Path_g2zzw5wbksxx0yrpq5z0fnxllbxkqvav'. Just delete any that you find and then restart Carrara.
Note that the AppData directory is hidden by default so you will need to go into Explorer settings to make it visible:
Open explorer. Select the View tab. Enable 'Hidden Items'.

I'm not doing anything plugin specific. When octane supports it, I'll add support in the plugin.protovu wrote:Hi Simon,
Can you confirm if something is in the works regarding noise reduction or de-noising with the Carrara Octane plugin?
