Actually you'll soon have to pay for the card and then pay Nvidia the same again to buy a driver to be able to run it at all.

CPU:-AMD 1055T 6 core, Motherboard:-Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AM3+, Gigabyte GTX 460-1GB, RAM:-8GB Kingston hyper X Genesis DDR3 1600Mhz D/Ch, Hard Disk:-500GB samsung F3 , OS:-Win7 64bit
Portal test:
One portal covering each window.
All images rendered for 30min @ 2048*1024, then resized to 1024*512. After spending half the day on this scene I realized it was not a very good test for portals, doh! But at least some difference is showing; pt+portal has less noise than pt but loose a little saturation/contrast. pmc+portal has very clean walls but the specular floor has so much noise that the legs of the chairs almost disappear! Also even if very faint in these renders it looks like light/shadows get greater precision with portals. For now it looks like pt+portal is the winner in this kind of scenes, but I´m sure there are optimizations to come for the pmc kernel.

Small bug report
The attached screens says it all.I have reported this before.
Rename this node and save your scene at your peril. If anyone does this then the scene is a goner...dead, it's deceased....It is a dead scene. It's gone to the great renderer in the sky.
( said In the tone of Monty Pythons dead parrot sketch !!!!!)
This node really does need locking off before someone else has a go on purpose or by accident and then breaks down in tears shouting why oh why when they can't load it!

Render time 16:00 minutes
octane render 2.48 and 2.47
PMC 2.48, portal ON PT 2.48, portal ON PT 2.47
PMC 2.48 wins over PT 2.47
PMC 2.48 wins over PT 2.48
PT 2.47 wins over PT 2.48 ???
When i introduce glass in interior, PMC engine shows why its better with coustics then others
Strange thing is that PT 2.47 have better image quality over PT 2.48 with portals !

Hi,
from time to time I make the experience that there are dot patterns in the ambient occlusion (Direct Lighting Engine).
I could only attach small crops of the scene, because of non disclosure stuff.
But it is everywhere where AO shadows are.
The total scene is quite large. 1km * 1km but has only 800 MB. Maybe it is the dimension but the scale factor is right and it is working fine with 2.46b.
Any ideas?

Hi, it seems that the Mix Material "Amount" slider has been reversed. I don't know if this is a new issue in 2.48 or not, but shouldn't increasing "amount" make material #2 show up more? Currently if I move it up to 1.00 it shows material #1.
