Daylight should work. Regarding the sky dome material, I will have a look at it tomorrow. Does it happen in all scenes? What are our scene configuration and export settings?ribrahomedesign wrote:hi abstrax .
something seems to be broken with this release .if i export a scene from cinema 4d , i get this strange Sky dome mat.
i dont want ,and daylight in octane does not work anymore ?
cheers

Please copy your C4D scene, replace the geometry with a cube and see if the problem still exists in the stripped down version. If it does, please send me that scene via e-mail. I'm sending you the address via PM.Rhodesy wrote:thanks for the exporter - i havent touched octane in ages. Im having difficulty exporting a camera with my scene from cinema though. I have ticked export camera and selected the one i want but when octane opens the building (my scene) is miles away and no sign of the camera. This is annoying as I loath the camera implimention in octane so cant really navigate my scene or get close to the building. I use centimeters in cinema which the exporter picks up so im pretty sure octane should automatically set to that. What am i doing wrong? Thanks

Ah yes, thanks for the feedback. Now I understand. The problem is that the Sky sky object consists of several (generated) light objects, including a sky dome which now gets exported. In Octane emmissive surfaces emit light only from the outside.ribrahomedesign wrote:hi Marcus.
i did a view test , and it looks like if the Sky object in c4d is active ,you get that strange sky dome in octane
and the daylight is not working
attached a image of the octane render ,and the cinema 4d settings with sky active
the scene is to big to upload
cheers
