Notes regarding features/functionality

OctaneRender® for 3ds max® implements all functionality of OctaneRender® standalone inside 3ds max®.
Any feature that the Standalone edition supports is supported by the 3ds max® plugin.

COMPATIBILITY AND OCTANERENDER STANDALONE REQUIREMENT

To run OctaneRender® for 3ds max®, you need to also have an activated OctaneRender® Standalone copy activated on the machine you wish to install the plugin onto.
You cannot purchase and use only the 3ds max plugin and use it without also owning an activated copy of OctaneRender® Standalone on your machine
.

HOW TO PURCHASE LICENSES

Go to our online shop here: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/shop/

If you do not own an OctaneRender® Standalone Edition License yet:
You can purchase both the OctaneRender® Standalone Edition and the OctaneRender® for 3ds max® Edition as a reduced price bundle, purchase the bundle priced at 179€

OCTANELIVE®

Just like OctaneRender® Standalone, The 3ds max® plugin product also needs an additional octanelive license and be activated on a machine.

that's insane! =) probably that's the biggest upgrade on Octane so far - I could not image what we are going to seee soon in the forum.. =) probably it will be flooded with amazing works..- instances alone will change a lot in GPU archviz field as OctaneRender will be so much more useful! Great, thanks (once more) for this feature!!!

Wow!!! It's so easy to use!!! WOW !!! Thanks Karba :)

Karba. Can you add a small correction to your instruction:

Instancing. To set object as instance, do right click on it, select Octane properties, set movable proxy option. (When you move object set INSTANCE in CLONE OPTIONS not COPY).

In Vray you can copy instance and it's working the same. In Octane you have to use Instance. Some people can have problem with that.

Okay first quick run with one of the free ForestPack Pro scenes rom itoo website.

It works very well. Octane Material Converter generated a lot of bad materials with glossy bark and whatever so I rendered untextured.
Around 227 Million polygones (is it billions in english..dunno).

Problem with viewport: 3dsmax has massive lags so I dont see any icons from the OCtane Viewport anymore. I background render with oe GPU. The other one for GUI.

Render Button works nice. So I can use it.
