Hey Refractive! great to see the updates coming.

Wanted to let you know that i get a weird crash on 2.58c.
Whenever I am changing material attributes, the most recent crash happened with specular channel, the viewport is
updating, and then hangs on the moment that the sample amount is around 4000 MS/s.
And not only Octane but the entire OS.
It happens with the PMC and DL kernels.

OS:W7 64
3x 580 + Quadro 4000 (display)
1.2M tris scene (scene size 220MB)
Rampage III Extreme - 990x - 24GB - Quadro 4000 (display), triple GTX 580 (Octane) - CPU & GPU's cooled with Antec 620's - DIY 15" Cintiq

Do You even read before You write something?
(don't want to be rude, just trying to help You =)

From first page:

"The new Kepler architecture (GTX680, GTX690 and others) is not supported yet. We have not been able yet to get satisfactory performance with the new CUDA version required for these cards." - read this info always, you'll get to know things earlier that someone is going to type answer for Your question. =)

Use Kepler test build, search in a forum for it =) there should be a thread about that.

Just a note: I was writing some custom .ocs files and noticed that if the .ocs or .ocm files don't have a line feed character at the end, they are treated as "corrupted" by the Octane parser and won't load (even though the whole xml structure is perfectly ok).

Also, could we have the option to specify a default path in settings for .ocm files, like we have for textures

Octane uses the default project path as default location for macros.

Does the crash happen if you render with only one or two GPU's? If so the cards could be overheating or not getting enough power.

Im always rendering with the 3 580's. The power the entire system then uses under load is 800w, so that's ok with a 1200w psu.
The middle card gets the hottest, around 85 with low fan speed, and 70 with high fan speed. The other 2 don't get hotter then 60-65.
Octane was the only software running at the time. It happened three times in a row the day before yesterday, and yesterday there was no problem.

If this happens again you can try rendering with only two cards. If it keeps running with two cards, but fails with three cards there may be a heat or power problem.

I'll try out some configurations. Thanks for the advice!
