roeland

I've done some more testing.
Results:

Libra office draw and write. Both paste in correctly , however alpha channel pastes in as black rather than clear. With Photoshop elements again, Alpha channel pastes in as black rather than clear.

I suspect therefore, apart from the alpha Channel problem and according to Matej's results above, that this might be a Linux system problem rather than a windows problem.

Well, I have tested again the Clipboard Copy/Paste feature, and it works fine in Gimp 2.6, Photoshop Elements (a very old version), and Dogwaffle Pro 5.1 (painting program). I had done Ctrl+C over the icon instead of clicking on it ! Stupid me !

Thanx for this release, the new features are very welcome.

No crashes so far.

Unfortunately, the alpha transparency and parameter vanishing bugs mentioned here...

... are still not fixed.

Edit: but i have to say that this is the more unstable version of octane that i ever try, even create a new material node make octane crash :(

Images with transparency is a non-standard clipboard format on windows. Photoshop doesn't support pasting images with transparency from other applications, GIMP and Microsoft Office do.

I tested on Linux (CentOS 5.5 64-bit) and pasting works in GIMP (including transparency) and with OpenOffice (without transparency).

I tested copying into Gimp from the clipboard and it worked fine. This is on Fedora 15. Matej when was the last time you re-booted? Sometimes some of the desktop services die or get killed. At least I have seen this happen with Gnome on Fedora. You could try restarting X or logout and login again, or reboot and see if that helps.

Hm, I booted yesterday and even after a logout it still doesn't work. Apparently it works for all of you, so it must be my system. I can live without this functionality, so no worries. :)
