This is my first post here. I've been fiddling around with OctaneRender demo for a few days now, and I absolutely love it! It IS the most efficient and fastest
spectral raytracer I've come across so far. I will be purchasing this amazing piece of software soon. 100 or so odd dollars is practically free, considering how much time this program saved me. Well enough about that, on to this little sample I posted. I used Octane'd specular material with refraction and an HDRI map from Paul Devebec's collection. Eventually planning on modeling some sort of jewellery, maybe adding some rubis or saphires as well. Image was rendered to 4096 S/Px. Took around 7 minutes on a GTX 560 Ti... (would have taken at least 2.5 hours on software render with a quad core Phenom II x4 965). Comments and criticism is higly encouraged!
Thanks
Looking forward to joining this wonderful community when I purchase Octane
