Maracana was a hard job, because in the begining I didn’t have any idea how I would do it without extrapolating my computer memory. My video card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 I had 3GB to use in this scene.
First I built the model with only what the cameras will see and I used a lot of atlas textures and enough number of shaders. For the mach I did a mix with low poly 3D character and Billboard atlas people, painted all randomly.

i don't like the project of the stadium, it seems to me an old concept, viceversa i love your renders, very good job :D
how is the final poly count and the vram usage?

The most big scene it had:
VRAM:2.564 used
Triangles: 7.235.747
Size render: 3000x2000 pixels
Time: 6 hours
and used PMC.
