Try to increase the maxdepth from the default 16. You might have to go up quite high to get the water clear and unfortunately it will also add to your render time. The trick is to find the sweet-spot between quality and speed.

I know this doesn't answer your problem, but I'm not sure having the glasses there looks very natural. If you'd just washed up a glass, it would go on a draining board - not just on the worktop. If I did that at home my girlfriend would go mad!
