Hey kubo, thanks a bunch! Thanks again for posting the nodes on your SSS, it really got me thinking. The problem with my setup is the lower you set the mix between gloss and diffuse the more white it gets....easy fix...ad rgb to the transmission. Problem I am having now is how to have the transmission color act when light hits it the right way without washing out the details of the diffuse map on the gloss side. I'm plugging in the diffuse map to both gloss and diffuse and upping the scale and absorption sliders so I can get a .700 mix in favor of the gloss side and still get some SSS from the diffuse side.....ah the testing goes on!

The breasts are superb! The problem is that when she is in a position lying on the floor the gravity will take effect and you know.. ;). I agree about the floor though but its a lovely result.

Hi boeing727223, could you please post your skin material settings, or a file with cube+material only?
I am testing V5 also but get not even close to your skin material.

Cheers, mib.

Quite good work. Don't worry too much about the breasts or chest.
You could evan improve the image with putting some work in the floor and try to avoid intersections with it.
Very good.
Five stars.

Well Elvissuperstar007, that is a matter of opinion. :D

Your second picture (real photo) would be what I want to shoot for in CG for as far as SSS and skin would be. Remember, this is a WIP and I really wanted to show what Octane can do with textures and materials to replicate skin.

Hey Mib, I sure will.....funny thing about it is the skin set up is pure glossy material with diffuse, spec, and bump maps only (no SSS)...so that is what Octane can do without SSS....problem is that the figure is then very light dependant to replicate skin properly. I am working on SSS and with some success, but the trick is to fully understand all the parameters, what they do, and how they contribute to the outcome. Just when you think you got it nailed, it fails under a new lighting situation!

Scale of the scene is very important and I have read in another post that the .obj at 39.3701 out of DAZ Studio was incorrect that it should be 1, but it is so small that even with the aperture slide way over to the left its still blurry.

I thank the many of my fellow artists who have posted their work and answered my posts, this has been a big help and continues to be as I learn this great tool.
