Hmm, seems that smoothing is broken. With 2.55 I have to manually enable smoothing to everything in the scene.

That's odd. Mine seems to be on by default and working fine.

So far I have loaded 4 scenes, and smoothing is disabled in all scenes. Never happened before.

Ok

I've tried loading 3 old octane scenes. Smoothing is still on in all of them.

Have you tried playing with your smoothing settings in the Preference ?

Hi guys,

I have added the linux and Mac OS X archives on the downloads section in the first post in this thread.
We appreciate your help in testing these too, and the errors/bugs already reported by other users.

We're taking notes and will fix these issues for the next update,

Thanks again,
Radiance

Just wanted to note that so far I haven't seen any issues with the new voxellising code.
If it is needed for implementing instances seems fine to use.
The 10m face scene I used to test is composed of object duplicates so it will be interesting to see how the same is with instances.
Keep up the good work :)

It seems, that Diffuse SSS on Directlight is actual only for one-sided surfaces.
For closed surfaces - it is AOdist addiction for now.

That's the current system. And, maybe, it could be enough for directlight rendering ^^

Hi.

Quite big slowdown by PMC during longtime rendering.
The Ms/sec is still around the same value but the real adding of samples is slower and slower.

Just wanted to say that you saved my butt this weekend! I had to render sugarcubes, and no matter what I tried they looked like white marble blocks.. After trying SSS on them.. Peeeerfect sugar!! I had to buy a extra license just for that hahaha

Thanx a bunch!
