i'd say that (at least under win 7 x64) a total crash is 99.9% hardware related. other things that may cause such a behaviour are almost ever driver related (maybe check with another nvidia driver version?), because of their low-level access to the system. even real bad application crashes are normally "only" freezes.Refracty wrote:So is it a common problem that the computer crashes completely (reboot)?

I am taking into account that my PSU has fail funtions but I am not sure. I will investigate more...

you may also check the condensers on the motherboard, because - depending on their quality - the might wear off and die some time (yet accelerated by constant high temperatures and high loads)... what then could cause critical voltage ripples under load.
