I played around with dispersion and wanted to make a render of a colourful refractive software logo when I stepped on a problem.
It seems like that light rays are refracted in the wrong direction. At first I believed I must have done something wrong. But several tests seemed to approve that octane handles refraction wrong.
In the picture below the light rays should be bend down instead of up.
As material for the prism I used standard specular. I just cranked up dispersion and turned of reflection.
I would like to attach the .ocs file but it doesn't seem to work.
refraction in wrong direction in octane?

It says "The extension ocs is not allowed."
Hm, I thought it is possible to attach an octane file to a post. Maybe someone knows how this can be done?

Zip or Rar file should work.
i5 2500K 4.7Ghz | Ram 4GB 1600mhz Kingston | Palit GTX 470 | Win7 64x | Octane with Blender 2.59
ok, that's embarrassing. The normals where pointing inside. Stupid me!
Thanks cornel for the quick help!

Actually 3% is caused by sitting in front of a monitor.cornel wrote:you`re welcome.
95% of all octane problems are caused by inverted normals or wrong scale. The remaining 5% are sitting in front of the monitor.
The remaining 2% is Brain fade caused by a lack of strong black coffee

CPU:-AMD 1055T 6 core, Motherboard:-Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AM3+, Gigabyte GTX 460-1GB, RAM:-8GB Kingston hyper X Genesis DDR3 1600Mhz D/Ch, Hard Disk:-500GB samsung F3 , OS:-Win7 64bit
Now it looks like expected!
@steveps3: the model is quite simple but maybe the lamp is a bit tricky. Here you go.
