Ocatane's render wishlist!
maybe not a real feature but your navigation doesn't work for me that well. I render products most of the time and I'd like to be able to rotate around an object. (Maybe with scenes or interior it's different...?!) There's very often an angle I can not get.
Here are my most wanted features.
- I definitely need a matte shadow material, for later compositing.
About ergonomy and little time saving in production :
- right clic -> duplicate node , or copy and paste support for nodes.
- right click on the mesh node (and images nodes) -> reload data. This will be useful when we make revisions on the loaded ressources, (painting textures for example, or modeling a mesh). Now we have to browse each time to the file.
- being able to see the current percentage of zoom of the viewport.
- Select all nodes and export them as individual .ocm. it would be a good way to make backups of entire projects, gathering all in one folder. (textures stored in ocm files).

@kiwimage, for reloading images there's already a reload button (just next to the load button in NI, when you have image node selected), but yeah I agree with the rest (except I would add that I want to be able to save an .ocm also with the option to not embed the textures)

Here is mine...
- Physically-Based Real-Time Lens Flare Rendering like this: http://vimeo.com/23687553
- RGBA seperate node to convert a channel to a floatimage.
- Exr split node to use different channels as image/floatimage.
- Multi texture combine node to mix multiple texures with s/r/t controll, also the option to change the tile mode for every input texture to single, mirror or continuously.
- Support to render multiple textures on vertex positions like sprites. With (random) x/y/z for s/r/t and (random)image selection. Maybe the option to select an underlying mesh to read the normals for the orientation with an x/y/z offset. Gives you the possibility to render a pointcloud like grass, starfields, leaves or fur.
- Texture adjust node to manipulate brightness/contrast/saturation.
- More mixer options like Photoshop (add/subtract/multiply...)
- Texture space generator node to generate a different uv-map for every texture. With that you can use multiple uv-maps like spherical, camera, box...

+1 to everything face said. I'm hoping for some of that stuff since I joined the zombie army...
Especially the last one - per texture UV coordinates (no per material, like it's now) - is a powerful way to give more texture variation to your materials and at the same time save VRAM.
